I developed a web application in 6 hours and earned $1500 per month

This is a simple web application that I created within 6 hours. It is a Finnish rental cabin finder with over 5000 users per month. Author: He is a young man from Finland.

The working principle is very simple. This web application retrieves user input information and opens their partner's villa website based on user specified criteria.

Anyone with basic web development skills can create this type of web application within a few hours.

1. But can this make money?

Of course, Laotie! This is a simple alliance transaction.

When users click on 'Find!', they will click on my affiliate link, and our partners will notice this. If the visitor rents any cabins within the next 14 days, we will receive a commission of $22.

2. Where do users come from?

Anyone can write applications. But getting people to use it is the difficult part.

Firstly, there must be a demand.

Before developing this application, I knew that hundreds of thousands of Finnish people would stay in rental cabins every year. Therefore, many people are looking for such solutions.

But there is also competition

In our case, there are already many better and more popular cabin search applications available. So, if there is already a better solution, how can my application attract users?

The answer lies in marketing.

Whenever people search for content like 'rental cabins in Lapland' on Google, our website appears at the top of the search results. If visitors subsequently open our website, the first thing they see is the rental cabin search application I created.

At this point, using the application is a breeze for them because it's right there.

Currently, our website receives 5000-10000 visits per month from Google, with the majority of these visits coming through the app. We passively earn approximately $1200-1500 per month from this website, with the majority coming from the application.

Key points

I spent 6 hours writing this web application.

But later on, we spent over 1000 hours writing 400 blog posts to promote the application.

This means:

• 0.6% of the time is spent on encoding
• 99.4% of the time is spent on marketing.

Its marketing proportion is too high, even calling it "programming code" is meaningless.
